Why is nobody reading my blog?

You just got a new blog started, wrote an incredibly unique article, and no one has took the time to read your post. Relax, it will not happen overnight. In this article I will specify several ways you can drive traffic to your site and increase your web presence.

Google

By now, it should come as no surprise that Google is the best source of web traffic on the net. Instead of targeting highly popular keywords, which are probably too competitve for your niche, you can create a myriad of lesser known longtail keyword phrases to target traffic.
This traffic is known to take longer to generate, but because very few experts bother with these phrases, they will be much more stable and secure. Make a complete list of these longtail keywords and you will be rewarded by the major search engines for it with a flood of targeted traffic.
Another very effective way to tap into the search engine source of traffic is Tagging, another name for keywords. Be careful how you tag content on your site. If using a blogging system like WordPress, all your categories will be considered tags automatically. If you’re creating URL’s, place keyword phrases in your links.

Article Marketing

Get one of your articles published in Ezines such as Addme.com and WebProNews.com. Ezines go out to hundreds of thousands of readers and can produce massive traffic to your site.
Much of this traffic may be temporary so try and capture the contact information of these temporary visitors for follow up targeting. Tip: Turn these temporary visitors into patrons of your site by offering a free e-course or email newsletters.

Yahoo! Answers

Another very effective, high converting venue is Yahoo! Answers. Here users post a question and other members offer answers. This can be an excellent source of targeted traffic if you take the time to answer questions in your niche. People will be happy you took the time to answer their question and they will feel important. If you leave informative, well thought out answers you will establish yourself as an authority in your niche and create a following if you link to your website.

Target some of these Top Sources of traffic on the web:

1. Digg.com
2. Netscape.com
3. Ezinearticles.com
4. Del.icio.us
5. Stumbleupon.com
6. Reddit.com
7. SlashDot.com
8. Blinklist.com
9. Furl.net
10. Squidoo.com

Social Media

Social Media marketing is the process of promoting your blog, website, or business online through social media channels. It is the newest trend for attracting visitors to your site, and is a massive free traffic tool if harnassed correctly. Using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter can get you links, attention, and huge amounts of targeted traffic. The success secret of your social media marketing campaign is content. Network and share your content to people who belong to your niche. Tip: The general rule to social media marketing is to use the 80/20 rule. Only 20 percent of your posts on social media sites should be for promoting your blog, site, or business. Too much promotion can lose you valuable followers who think you’re only about promotion or can mistake you for being a spammer.

Conclusion

The key factor in using all of these sources of massive traffic is to produce unique, quality content for your target audience. It is imperative to create good, original content on your site as well as in your articles and posts. Make your content informational, useful, and entertaining. Leave questions unanswered if possible to urge visitors to leave comments. They will often link to your site or subsribe to your feed to see if their comment has been addressed.
People wanna communicate with other people who are interested in the same things they are. Establish yourself as a professional without coming accross too stiff. Let your followers know you are genuinely interested in what they have to say. People want to feel important and know their voice is being heard. Always take the time to answer all emails, comments, and posts or you will make your fans feel lost in a sea of net surfers.

I wish you all great success!

Getting Started Monetizing Your Blog|frantete.wordpress.com

To start making money online through blogging you must first have a blog. You can use a free blog host such as WordPress or Blogger, or hosting your own blog. I reccommend that you start with a free blog host to get you familiar with blogging if you have never done it before.

Before you go ahead and create a blog, you must decide what you are going to write about. One key to a successful blog is a proper market research and knowing what your readers are interested in.

Market Research

Start by considering what you are personally interested in. Blogging about something you are passionate about is a big plus not only because you are knowledgeable on the subject, you’ll also have few problems coming up with post ideas. Brainstorm.

Next, go to Blog Search and search each idea you come up with. The idea is to choose a topic that has the most results. You can narrow down the results by the most recent-the more recent the better. This shows the topic is how and theres plenty of readership.

Keyword Research

Once you have a main topic, familiarize yourself with the main keywords associated with your niche. It’s important to know these keywords because by including them in your blog you’ll make it easier for readers to find you. If you are completely new it may be a little overwhelming in the beginning. Just let your posts flow naturally and chances are you will do just fine reaching your audience.

Go to Google’s Keyword tool or any other tool of your choosing and simply enter your topic. It will give you the list of related keywords and the traffic numbers that you should know.

Create Your Blog

I wont go into detail on setting up a blog, its pretty simple. The main requirement for this step is to include your topic (or the main keyword if its not the same) in the blog title.

Try experimenting with different blog themes to see which will work with your blog. Sometimes just using a simple theme goes a long way. Try not to use popular themes because a lot of people already use these and you want to create a unique look and fell to your site so you create a memorable experience for your readers.

Start Writing

Start your writing adventure! Try to stay on topic. People came to your site to read about what keyword they searched for, not to hear that you got a new dog and you named it Diamond. Subscribe to top blogs in your niche to generate ideas. See what others are writing about but be unique. Create your own brand.

Here are some tips:

1. Dont use fancy fonts and avoid too many images. You do not distract your followers.
2. Provide tips and tricks.
3. Create top lists (for example top ten reasons you should start a blog).
4. Talk about the latest happenings in your niche.
5. Ask questions to encouarage your readers to answer in comments.
6. Ask for feedback. Engaging your readers to comment makes them feel welcome and encourages them to come back.
7. Always answer the comments so your readers know you care about what they have to say. Interaction is key to building relationships.

Get Traffic

This is where the magic happens. To get readers you need visitors, plain and simple. Here is a suggested plan to get a healthy amount of targeted traffic to your blog:

1. Submit your blog to blog directories.
2. Submit your blogs RSS feed to RSS directories,
3. Use social networking plugins such as TweetMe button, Facebook Open Graph plugin, etc.
4. Find blogs that accept guest posts. This is very important and can bring you a lot of traffic. Provide your best content and follow the sites guidelines.
5. Find top blogs in your niche and subscribe to their RSS feed. When they make a new post, go to their blog, and comment on their post. Provide the url to your blog where appropriate. That way your comment will be one of the first and their readers will see it, and likely follow through to your own blog. Make your comments insightful and of value.
6. Network with fellow bloggers in your niche. This goes a long way in the blogging community.
7. Social networking. Sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn are awesome oppurtunities to drive traffic to your blog.

Monetize Your Blog

1. Adsense is one of the easiest ways to monetize your blog. Create an adsense accout (its free) and familiarize yourself on how to create ads for you blog.
2. Sell advertising space. You can do this by simply announcing that you sell ad space on your blog (making a post about it and adding a link to the sidebar for example). You can also add your blog to a marketplace such as buysellads.com.
3. Write product reviews. This is a great way to make commission from affiliate programs. Try and write reviews about products you’ve used personally. People will be more likely to buy after reading an honest review.
4. Create a paid listing section. Visit ShoemoneyMarketplace for more details.
5. Write a ebook and sell it on your blog

The above list is just a few ways of monetizing your blog. Do some research and you will find there are many, many more. Have fun blogging and I wish you all much success!

Intro to Niche Marketing

Millions of Americans are making a full time income online. Let’s face it, the get rich quick schemes do not work. Niche marketing is a proven method to making money with an online business.
Niche Marketing is a very specific portion of a much larger market. For instance, internet marketing is a market. List building, seo, and traffic conversions are niche markets.
Take some time to decide what information or product you are going to offer. From there you can find out if there is a market for this product, how large the market is, and if they spend money.
Targeting a specific niche will give your site or blog a specific purpose and focus. Visitors to your site will be able to instantly identify what its about.
Niche marketing will also make it much easier to get a decent ranking in the search engines because your keywords will be more speccific. If you decide to do a pay per click campaign, specific keyword phrases are always cheaper than broader, general words.
Using these highly targeted keyword phrases will also bring much more qualified traffic to your site. This may bring less trafficbut it will be more qualified traffic which in turn, results in higher conversion. Would you rather have a site that gets a lot of traffic but has no sales or a site with half the traffic but makes sales consistently?
So how do you find your niche? Ask yourself some questions. What do you already know a lot about or have a passion for? Do some research to find out if theres a target audience for this type of information or topic.
Overture has a keyword suggestion tool that lets you type in a keyword and see how many times it was used in a search. Google Keywords does the same thing and is also free.
Visit message boards or newsgroups where your target market hangs out to see what they’re talking about. What issues or problems are they having? If you can, answer questions and you’ll have a following for when you launch your site .
